Have you ever wanted to quickly share photos and files with a friend without the hassle of emailing or texting? With Airdrop, you can do just that – and it’s super easy to activate! Here’s how to get your Mac ready for super-quick file sharing.
Making Macs Fly: Activate Airdrop Now!
Airdrop is a clever Apple feature that allows you to quickly and easily send files from one Mac to another. To start using it, the first step is to make sure it’s enabled on your Mac. Here’s how to do it:
Press the Command + Space bar combination to open up ‘Spotlight’ and search for ‘Airdrop’. You can also access it through the Finder, by going to ‘Go’ in the top bar and then selecting ‘Airdrop’. If you want to be extra-careful, you can also click ‘Preferences’ from the top of the Airdrop page to open the Airdrop settings.
From there, you should make sure that ‘Allow me to be discovered by’ is set to ‘Everyone’. If it’s not, then click the dropdown menu to select it.
Ready, Set, Share: Get Airdrop Going in No Time
Once you’ve enabled Airdrop on your Mac, you’ll be able to send and receive files with anyone else who has it enabled. All you have to do is select the item you want to share, then click ‘Share’ in the top right corner.
On the next screen, you’ll see the ‘Airdrop’ icon in the top corner. Select it and a list of nearby users with Airdrop will appear. Select the person you want to share the item with, and they’ll get a pop-up notification asking them to accept the file.
Once they accept it, the file will be transferred from one Mac to another in a matter of seconds! And if you’re a little more tech-savvy, you can even use Airdrop to control which items (e.g. photos, files, etc.) can be shared.
Activating Airdrop on your Mac is simple and easy to do. And once it’s done, you can quickly and easily share files with anyone nearby in just a few clicks. So say goodbye to the days of emailing files back and forth – courtesy of Airdrop, now you can transfer files in the blink of an eye!
